Interesting read - Hydrohumanities : water discourse and environmental futures

Continuing my research into water management, this book came up as a study on the discourse around water and its links to power in the modern era. As a limited resource, ownership and control over water have great economic potential. Especially in current and approaching climate extremes. Previously, most discussions around water traditionally focused on fresh water, which was easily available for human use. However, this book takes about how changing climate patterns and exacerbated extremes are changing the water discourse. The book also makes a point as to how interdisciplinary cross-cultural approaches can lead to more productive and peaceful interactions around water management. Split into 3 water study themes, the book looks at the agency of water, fluid identities and cultural currencies. Exploring the properties of water, the ways in which water challenged human plans for control, and how water, or lack thereof it, shapes both individual identities and the human collective. The book also looks at how water has been managed at a local, national and international scale.
