Barcelona: Paving

When in Barcelona recently I was very interested in the quality of detail in the pedestrian paving. Below are some images I took while walking around, showing the range of patterns found around the city.  All the pictured tiles are Panots (meaning flagstone) and are usually small and square. Featuring graphic designs relating to the neighbourhoods of the city they are found in. The Panot tiles designed by Antoni Gaudí are hexagonal (also shown below in photo and sketch) The floral pattern, seen twice, and sketched, is particularly iconic. It is the Flor de Barcelona and is incredibly widespread in the city and is also heavily featured on souvenirs.
