Ayrmer Cove - Devon

A National Trust site, Aymer Cove is on the south coast of Devon. Exhibiting near vertical Devonian age rocks, slates and siltstones. I was lucky when I went that the tide was out, exposing the wave-cut platform rock formations and other unique geological features. The site was excellent in terms of visual recording for textural and organic forms, with highly pigmented and angular rock shapes.

The bedrock geology is from the Meadfoot group, slate, siltstone and sandstone with threads of banded basalt crossing the bay.

Below is a series of primary photographs from the site along showing the varied rock forms.
