Bigbury Sketching

On the same Devon trip, I went swimming at Bigbury Bay. A special landscape for me due to the familial connections and childhood memories associated. The area is characteristic of a coastal plateau and slopes that extend from the Yealm Estuary around the Bay. Not pictured in the sketch is Burgh Island, a tidal Island a walk from the shore at low tide. The sketch used continuous line technique for the rocks in the foreground, and a sketchier freehand for the backdrop cliffscape in an attempt to create depth.
