Continuous line exercise
The week one drawing exercise shown below was to draw our water bottle using the continuous line technique. For the first drawing we were given 2 minutes, the second only 1. The aim of the exercise was to demonstrate time allocation for representational visualisations and cement the importance of understanding the time it takes for yourself to complete tasks. Showing the different quality of work done in half the original time.
I personally prefer my first drawing, as it is more proportionally accurate of the real object. In the second task, I was so focused on correcting the minor bottle width inaccuracy that I overcorrected and made it look squat. That being said, it is still representational of the bottle, and I managed to add the crucial identificational logo detail so as a drawing aid it still functions. With the additional annotation of the colour, the sketch would be enough to identify the product in a catalogue.
