Alphabet series - W
Again a more conceptual letter mimic. This time I see Ws in a radiating 8-pointed Moorish star. A ceiling motif in a handful of the adjoining courtyard rooms at Dar El Bacha in Marrakech, the detailing of the painting and tilework here are just incredible. Thanks to the long wait time for a table in the Bacha coffee house most visitors are given ample time to appreciate the architecture in the complex. This room in particular followed a primary triadic colour scheme, with prominent yellow and blue hues, and accenting red oranges, also making it a partially complementary scheme. Not a facade of the inner courtyard was left undecorated, either with carved wood, mosaic or detailed paintings. Floor-to-ceiling was ornate, leaving any visitor completely immersed in the artistry. The standard of the craftsmanship was incredible, and the highest standard to aim at in any project.
