Car Park Drainage - Continued

Continuing on from the previous post regarding the sus tech car park detailing, the drainage concept has progressed and is now including the dimensioning and looking at the structural planting. Geometric forms are still the design motif for the project, so the rain gardens are bordered with rectangular topiary heading using Lonicera nitida readybags. The kerbs are modelled on VYARA’s precast concrete kerbstones and will conform to EN 1339.
The gravel sediment traps are now open top, without the originally planned steel grate. This is primarily an aesthetic choice, however, it will also improve the speed of capture as there is less interception.
On the second sketch detail, the sides of the rain garden module are of differing heights. This is intentional, as the car park will be slightly terraced overall to further aid in the site drainage. Ensuring water flows away from the buildings and into the Northern wooded section of the site.
